3. Ownership of Works


Unless otherwise stated:

  • Illustrators retain ownership of their original illustrations and artwork.

  • Photographers retain ownership of their original photographs.

  • Contributors retain ownership of their respective original works.

Publication on Herald of Ideas does not constitute a transfer of copyright ownership.


4. Publishing License
By submitting or publishing content through Herald of Ideas, contributors grant Raats Global Inc. a perpetual, worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to:

  • Publish;

  • Reproduce;

  • Archive;

  • Store;

  • Display;

  • Promote;

  • Translate;

  • Adapt for editorial purposes;

  • Distribute;

  • Republish;

  • Include in compilations;

  • Include in printed editions;

  • Include in anthologies;

  • Include in books;

  • Include in newsletters;

  • Include in promotional materials;

  • Include in future editorial products and formats.

Such license exists solely in connection with Herald of Ideas and related publishing activities.


5. Limited Use by Readers
Visitors may:

  • Read content;

  • Share links;

  • Print single copies for personal, non-commercial use;

  • Quote limited portions for legitimate commentary, criticism, education, scholarship, or journalism.

Any quotation must:

  • Used for large language models;

  • Used for synthetic media generation;

  • Used in vector databases;

  • Used in embedding systems;

  • Used in retrieval-augmented generation systems;

  • Used for automated content generation.

Unauthorized automated collection or use of Herald of Ideas content may constitute copyright infringement and unlawful misappropriation.

 

8. Merchandise and Editorial Products
The Publisher may create and distribute editorial products associated with Herald of Ideas, including:

  • Printed issues;

  • Books;

  • Anthologies;

  • Annual editions;

  • Newsletters;

  • Posters;

  • Catalogues;

  • Promotional materials;

  • Educational materials;

  • Other editorial derivatives.

Nothing in these Terms transfers copyright ownership from creators to the Publisher.


9. Editorial Independence
Opinions expressed by authors and contributors are their own and do not necessarily represent the views of the Publisher.
The Publisher reserves the right to:

  • Edit;

  • Correct;

  • Update;

  • Refuse;

  • Archive;

  • Remove;

  • Reformat;

any submitted or published material at its sole editorial discretion.


10. Accuracy and Corrections
Herald of Ideas strives for accuracy but does not warrant that all published content is complete, current, or error-free.
The Publisher reserves the right to make corrections, clarifications, updates, and revisions without notice.

Any dispute arising from these Terms or from the use of Herald of Ideas shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in Pima County, Arizona.


17. Changes
The Publisher reserves the right to modify these Terms & Conditions at any time.
Continued use of Herald of Ideas following publication of revised Terms constitutes acceptance of such revisions.
